The easing of the Corona measures has been eagerly awaited, and now the time has finally come! From 5 March 2022, many of the previous measures will no longer apply – some however, will remain in place. Where previously 2G still applied, i.e. a proven vaccination or recovery had to be proven, this has, in many cases, been changed to 3G. Where this is the case, only a negative test will be required for entry.
Here is an overview of the new Covid rules for you:
– In almost all areas, the 3G-rule is no longer applicable.
There are a few exceptions, including hospitals and nursing homes, where the 3G-rule remains in place.
– The 2G-rule continues to apply in the gastronomy.
– The entry restrictions to Austria have also been relaxed. This means that the 3G-rule applies here once again, making entry much easier.
However, there are still exceptions for areas and countries with new virus variants.
– From 5 March, it will only be compulsory to wear FFP2 masks in certain areas, including on public transport and in stores where daily needs are met, such as supermarkets, banks and post offices, chemists as well as hospitals.
– And, at last, the night-time gastronomy will open its doors again – most likely with a 2G or 2G+ rule (2G+ means that entry is only allowed for those who have been vaccinated or who have recovered and who can provide a negative test result)! Also from 5 March, there will no longer be a required closing time for establishments.
