You can spend balmy evenings in late summer at Copa Beach in Vienna. The four-hectare recreational area not only offers bustling green and open spaces, but also a real sandy beach, a variety of restaurants as well as numerous sports facilities, such as a climbing park. Situated directly on the Danube, it truly provides a holiday atmosphere.

The last days of warm summer temperatures can, however, also be enjoyed at the many fresh markets in Austria’s capital. The Wiener Naschmarkt is a particularly well-known market in the city. What could be better than strolling amongst the many stalls, enjoying samples and buying fresh ingredients that can then be cooked in your own CheckVIENNA apartment? You are sure to feel right at home!

It can sometimes be difficult to choose a particular restaurant, café or wine tavern (known as Heurigen), and this is why we recommend one of the many culinary tours offered in Vienna! The perfect opportunity to combine a culinary experience and some sightseeing, while getting a true feeling of Vienna. Discover the tastefully diverse side of the capital.

Vienna is, above all, also known for its wonderful and famous museums. The capital is home to a wide variety of museums, such as the two ‘twin museums’ – the Natural History Museum and the Art History Museum, centrally located on the Ring between the City Hall and the State Opera. Museums especially for children can also be found in Austria’s capital.

The ‘Im Blick’ exhibition at the Upper Belvedere is particularly worth visiting. The Viennese artist, Georg Eisler, captured the very essence of Viennese life in his works, from everyday life on the streets of Vienna, to the hustle and bustle of a train station, or dancing in a club.

And if the weather is not as good as you hoped it would be, there’s not only a great programme for bad weather, but also a purely digital exhibition: Virtual Middle Ages: A New Look at Old Art. Here you can take a digital 3D look at early art and selected works are even introduced, illustrated and explained.

Upper Belvedere
Address: Prinz Eugen-Straße 27, 1030 Vienna

Im Blick Exhibition: 8 April – 25 September 2022

In order to fill up your vitamin D reserves before the cold winter months, a leisurely stroll through Vienna is recommended. The many sights, such as St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Schönbrunn Zoo or the Prater, are best explored and experienced on foot. Don’t forget to take photos for Instagram!

For hiking enthusiasts, however, the vineyards surrounding Vienna are the place to be. There are not only hiking tours of various distances, but the local winegrowers and wine taverns (known in Austria as Heurigen) offer delicious delicacies and a place to have a break – including the best views of Vienna.
