Prepare for your day in Vienna with a lavish brunch!

Regardless of whether you are in Vienna for business or for pleasure, you should always take time for a lavish breakfast, as breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Brunch Paradise in DAS 1090

If you are a true fan of brunches, you may have already seen the famous brunch video on the Facebook page of DAS 1090. A real feast for the eyes too because the sumptuous brunch is prepared with loving attention to detail.

Every Sunday from 10am to 2.30pm, the cosy restaurant at Bauernfeldplatz 2 transforms its ground floor into a veritable brunch paradise. Here you will find everything that your heart desires – hardly any brunch location in Vienna offers such an extensive selection of dishes. In addition to the classical cold dishes, which have become standard in any brunch buffet, there is also a warm buffet with hard boiled eggs, an English breakfast, chicken, Kaiserschmarrn (thick pancakes with raisins, chopped up and served with stewed plums),  and much much more to choose from. Although the dishes on offer in the warm buffet vary, the Kaiserschmarrn, a traditional Austrian dish – is always available.

As is the case with other popular eating establishments in Vienna, it can be difficult to get a table here and, therefore, we recommend that you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. You can reserve a table on the DAS 1090 website or by phone from 10am to 12.15pm or from 12.15pm to 2.30pm. And if the weather is good, you can also try your luck without a reservation as, due to the inviting outdoor area, the chances that you get a table increase.

Where could you do that better than in Restaurant Oben – located directly on the roof of the Main Library on the Viennese Gürtel (literally, the „Belt“ – the road encircling the central districts of the city). Form here you have an amazing view over the city. Every Sunday, a delicious brunch is conjured up from fresh, regional products. And, in accordance with the philosophy of the owner, no ready meals are served and every dish is freshly prepared.

The brunch costs € 18.80 for adults and includes a hot drink, a glass of sparkling wine or a beer as well as an organic orange juice. In “Oben” you can comfortably feast your way through a Sunday, provided you have reserved a table 😉

Trendy breakfast establishment in the 15th district

Although an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet is not served here, the Eduard has to be included in our list. Because this modern, cosy restaurant is a true highlight in the 15th district of the city.

From Tuesday until Friday, various breakfasts and brunches are served from 7.30am until 11.30am and at the weekend, from 9.30am until 3pm. In summer you can sit comfortably in the sunny outdoor area and enjoy watching the comings and goings at the lively Sparkassenplatz.

Enjoy brunch next to the Main University

Although the Edison brunch is having a summer break at the moment, it also has to be included in our list. And not only because the Edison – above all, during the week – is particularly popular with students due to its location close to the Main University. Every Sunday an extensive brunch is served with cold and warm dishes as well as typical Viennese delicacies. You can spend a good few hours here – a wonderful start to any Sunday.

During the summer break, the Edison is, however, not closed on Sunday and you can still choose a breakfast from the à-la-carte menu from 9am. From 9th September 2018, you will be able to once again enjoy an amazing brunch in Das Eduard.
