This year the Africa Days will once again be held on the Danube Island. From 9th August until 26th August, the African spirit prevails. Dance to music from numerous international artists, haggle like you would at a bazar and enjoy the African delicacies. On the charity days, (12th, 19th and 26th August 2019) there is no entrance fee and instead the organisers ask for voluntary donations, all of which will be passed on to aid organisations which work in this area. Under the motto: “Austria for Africa”.

The World Press Photo Exhibition is an annual event which is very popular with the Viennese. The exhibition is held in Westlicht in the Westbahnstraße in Vienna’s seventh district and shows prize-winning press photos from 2019, which were selected by a jury. This year’s winning photo is a symbol of the US restrictive immigration policy under President Trump. It was taken by the American photographer John Moore.
From 9th September until 20th October the touring exhibition will make a stop in Vienna. It is well worth arriving early as, at the last weekends of the exhibition in particular, there can be longer waiting times.

A very special highlight in Vienna will take place from 26th September to 13th October: the Vienna Oktoberfest! Following the example of the Munich Oktoberfest, you can now also celebrate traditionally and exuberantly in Vienna. Because here, on the Kaiserwiese of the Vienna Prater, you can experience the real, original and traditional Austria and in the evening, there is a truly party atmosphere in the tents!
The event is rounded off with traditional cuisine, craftsmanship and folk music. The many bands, celebrities and events guarantee an unforgettable experience and wonderful holiday memories.
Our tip: The best way to visit the festival is in Austrian traditional costumes – Dirndl and Lederhose. Expereince and enjoy the event like the local Viennese

The wine region in and around Vienna is particularly idyllic in autumn. When the weather is good, the Buschenschank (a tavern which offers food and drinks which it has produced itself) Mayer at Nussberg is particularly worth a visit and you can take in the breath-taking views of Vienna there while enjoying the Heurigen delicacies and wine. A true highlight when the leaves are slowly beginning to change colour in autumn. (http://www.mayeramnussberg.at/)
